JPG Magazine - Street Photography

A few months ago JPG Magazine chose a theme idea I submitted to them - Street Photography - to be part of an upcoming issue. I was inspired to submit this theme by the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson (above).

Unfortunately, I just got word they are not going to use the photo (below) I submitted for publication, but I still think it is cool that my theme idea resulted in the submission of 3181 other photos. The most of any theme to date.  At least a few people said they liked it.

Boz's Fifth Annual Oscar Contest

Congrats to my former co-worker Seth for winning this year’s contest. If you didn’t get an invite but you have in the past, it is either because you never play or you have AOL for email. If you want to be invited in the future, just let me know. (And get a real email service. ;-)

Tumblr is cool.

Ok, I just have to say I think I found my calling with this thing. I don’t have time for real blogging so this is perfect.

Puretracks takes lead in rights fight

This company is selling DRM free music. “The site’s unprotected catalog, which includes artists such as The Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLachlan, will initially feature only 50,000 of its 1.3 million tracks, but will grow weekly, said Alistair Mitchell, president and chief executive. The songs will also be playable on devices they previously did not work on, such as Apple Inc.’s iPods, and the offering will grow to include tracks from major record labels.”

But don’t rush in. Looking at their site, all I see is DRMed WMV files at the moment.
